The emergence and impact of mankind

Since the dawn of mankind, we have gradually shaped our world, moving from nomadic societies to organised, sedentary civilisations. Technological revolutions have led to increased domination of nature, resulting in massive exploitation of natural resources and endless growth. 

 

The mechanisms that ensure the resilience of the living world are being undermined by human activity. In less than 200 years, they have upset the fragile balances built up over billions of years. With great concern, the film denounces this sixth mass extinction, caused by our quest for performance, profit and domination.
