Of the four seasons, autumn is undoubtedly the least known. Yet it is the time of year when colours are at their most vibrant, when the forest is ablaze with yellows and reds, and when many species are living important periods.
VOIR L'AUTOMNE takes us on a sensitive journey through those who experience the season closest to nature. A young couple of winegrowers whose festive harvest marks the beginning of autumn. An old shepherd, a memory keeper of the Mercantour region, who passes on his knowledge to his daughter during the transhumance. A freediver who has an encounter with a seal in Finistère during the mating season. An acoustician who attempts to capture the power of the deer rut. Marie, a young biologist in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, faces a humpback whale beginning its migration. Yann Arthus-Bertrand meets a hunter in his hut in the Baie de Somme. Vincent, in the Pyrenees, an aspiring wildlife photographer, the only one to regularly see the bear, soon to hibernate.
Through their stories, autumn unfolds as a journey that is both intimate and universal, where the power of life and the wonders of the season reveal themselves to those who take the time to observe.
